Dear Friends of the Kansas Disability Caucus,
We have some important news about our upcoming event. Unfortunately, we need to cancel our planned conference in August 2024. While organizing our fundraising activities, we discovered that our federal tax-exempt status was revoked because we hadn’t submitted a Form 990 to the IRS for three years in a row. This was a surprise to us, and it’s something we’re taking very seriously.
To fix this and make sure it doesn’t happen again, we’ve brought on a professional accountant. They’re helping us get everything sorted out and back on track. We really appreciate your patience and support as we work through this issue.
Now, for some good news: we’re not letting this slow us down! We’re already planning for the future and are excited about what’s ahead. We’re in talks with the hotel to reschedule our conference for August 12-14 in 2026. And here’s something to look forward to – we are keeping our theme and logo of “Empowerment in Action: Shaping Our Future,” which many of you have expressed excitement about. Please stay tuned for more updates from us soon.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We’re looking forward to the time when we can all gather again and create new, unforgettable moments together.
Warmly,
The Kansas Disability Caucus Executive Board
